BADMINTON MATCH AT WESTPORT

On Monday evening at Westport, the Westport Badminton Club received a visit from the Reefton Club, a particularly cordial spirit existing between these clubs, and a very enjoyable night was had by all the competitors. At the conclusion of play, Mr Dellaca presented the cup, donated by him, to Mr C. Christie, the captain of th e Westport Club. Mr Dellaca expressed the wish to see more young people taking an interest in this healthy indoor sport, and to continue the goodwill between clubs. On behalf of the Westport Club, Mr Christie thanked Mr Dellaca. Mr Caldwell spoke on behalf of the Reefton Club, and thanked the Westport Club for the very friendly way in which they played their games. Reefton Club would not fail to return next season. Mr A. Duncan, of the Westport Club, welcomed the Reefton visitors, expressing the wish that they should come again. Present were: Messrs Madill (patron), L. Harrison, C. Walker and Mr and Mrs P. Dellaca.
