Tasmania to Employ Overseas Technicians
HOBART, Sept. 22.
Approved British and Continental engineers and architects would be temporarily employed by the Tasmanian Government to speed up planning of projects approved by the Commonwealth National Works Council, the Tasmanian Premier (Mr R. Cosgrove) announced recently. He said the technicians would be selected from lists of technically qualified people who were anxious to migrate to Australia, provided suitable employment could be found for them. ( oveinment departments in Tasmania for which the men were principally required were the Public Works Department and the HydroElectric and Transport Commissions, he added - -m-urn .
