BOARDERS EVICTED BEFORE BABY’S BIRTH
WELLINGTON, Aug 24. iX. young Wellington married couple, Mr and Mrs A. E. Curd. we.'< to-day awarded £5O damages and costs against Sadie Domanos, married woman, proprietress of a Wellington boardinghouse, for wrongful eviction The female plaintiff stated in evidence yesterday that she had been evicted a fortnight before the birth of her child. The plaintiffs claimed £125 damages.
The Magistrate. Mr T. E. .Maunsell, said he had no hesitation in finding for the plaintiffs. He said “The defendant objects to babies in her boardinghouse, but, ; |E the plaintiffs elected to remain in then room with their baby, it was not the business of the defendant to interfere.”
