A new application for the consent of the Westland Land Sales Committee to the sale of the Central Hotel, Albert Street, Greymouth, by P. Keating to C. E. Bourke, has been made necessary owing to the original application having failed to differentiate chattels from the remainder of the property. In the previous application evidence indicated that the price £4575 included chattels valued at £5OO, whereas it was yesterday stated by the Crown representative, Mr A. E. Wogan, that in hotel deals the practice was to have chattels dealt with separately from the going concern comprising the land, building, license and goodwill. Consent to the price of £4575 for the latter would therefore have to be applied for, the new tenant being expected to purchase chattels apart from the going concern.
