Bulgarian Embassy Official Wanted as A war Criminal

ATHENS, August 22. Boris Temkov, press attache at the Bulgarian Embassy in London is being sought by Greece as a war criminal. Temkov was charged with “murders, the exile of civilians, organising forced labour for military purposes, and looting the property of Greek citizens,” by the Greek Office of War Criminals after an examination of his record and after evidence of witnesses had been heard. On August 11 the British Government asked the Bulgarian charge d’affaires in London for the recall of Temkov. No reason was given for the request, beyond a statement that he was persona non grata. The Greek indictment alleges that Temkov tried to change ‘‘Thrace’s ethnological complexion” by exterinating Greeks.
