Masters Ray Wildermoth and Barry Curtis left on yesterday’s express for New Plymouth with the Rugby, League representative team.

Miss New Zealand (Miss Mary Woodward) on Wednesday visited Leeds, and a R.A.F. station at Church Fenton, where many New Zealanders were stationed during the war, and also York. At Leeds she inspected Montague Burton’s clothing factory, and was entertained bv the directors. At York, the Lord Mayor, Mr J. B. Morrell and Lad” Maj'oress, Miss Morrell, gave a civic reception in her honour.—P.A.

The funeral took place at the Karoro cemetery yesterday morning of Miss Mary Mulcare, of Ngahere, and was attended by a large number of residents of the Grey Valley. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Ngahere, by the Rev. Father J. Quinn. Also in the Sanctuary were the Rt. Rev. Monsignor J. Long and the Rev. Fathers T. Farrell and S. O’Brien. The service at the graveside was conducted by Father Quinn, who was assisted by Monsignor Long and the Rev. Fathers Farrell, O. Brien. J. London '(Hokitika) and R. O’Gorman (Wataroa). The Children of Mary formed a guard of honour at the graveside and at the completion of the service sang "Eternal Rest.” •
