National Executive To Continue Discussion P.A. WELLINGTON, August 17. No decision on Union policy in the waterfront dispute has yet been reached by the National Executive of the Waterside Workers' Union. The Executive will continue its meeting to-mor-row. Aorangi Arrives AUCKLAND, Aug. 17 Employment was declined for the sixth working day by the watersiders when discs were posted to-day at the labour engagement bureau. The trans-Pacific liner, Aorangi, from Vancouver, Honolulu and Suva, berthed at Princess Wharf about two o’clock this afternoon without incident being the first passenger liner to arrive since the wharves were closed to the public. The mails and luggage were handled by Union Company staff. The liner will sajl for Sydney to-morrow afternoon without having worked her cargo.

A strict check on people entering Princess Wharf early in the afternoon to meet friends arriving in the Aorangi was made by Harbour Board officials. The gate.. staff on the wharves was doubled. Passes were issued by the Union Company to persons with special reasons for boarding the liner. Her cargo from Vancouver will be carried on to Sydney. Potatoes are still being loaded in the South Island for Auckland. Consumers here require 10,000 to 15,000 sacks weekly from the south. The local market is bare. Five thousand sacks came from Raglan this week —l4OO sacks for Auckland and the remainder for the Waikato. South Island potatoes which have been in the hold of the Whipori for about six weeks, have deteriorated, but are reported to be still in fair Condition.’ • The ventilators are trimmed daily. Two windsails circulate fresh air. There has been a certain degree of heating. A large consignment of potatoes which have been in the Waiana for about three weeks is reported to be in good order and condition.
