OBITUARY Mr Thomas Battensby

The death took place yesterday afternoon, after a brief illness, of Mr Thomas Battensby, of Doyle Street, Blaketown, Greymouth. Born in County Durham, England, 57 years ago, he came to New Zealand and settled in Greymouth 21 years ago. He worked in the Dobson colliery for eleven years, and for the past ten years was employed by the Greymouth Borough Council. Mr Battensby was a member of the Buffalo Lodge, and was treasurer of Harbour Lodge No. 73, Greymouth.. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Margaret Battensby, and two brothers and two sisters in England. The funeral will leave his late residence on Saturday afternoon for the Karoro Cemetery.
