AUCKLAND, May 2 Mr J. A. Connon, in his presidential address to the annual conference of the New Zealand Federation of Bakers and Pastrycooks said: “The •cutstanding economic feature since our last conference has been the further inflation of costs. This is drawing impetus from persisting deficiencies in the volume of production, a position most seriously hindered by industrial disputes with frequent industrial stoppages.” The selling price of their commodities had not increased, Mr Connon added, and they looked with dismay at the vortex of increased costs besetting them.
