Fat Cattie Decline P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, March 23 Although most sheep and pig prices at Addington to-day showed a rise, tne tat cattle prices declined on last week’s sale. STORE SHEEP The yarding oi ewes was 21,735, including 16,836 aged sheep, 3821 twotooths, and 4899 lambs. The quality oi the iwo-tooths was good, but. the aged sheep were not impressive. The lamos included a number of useful station drafts. The lambs sold ox-, ceptionally well and were 3s a head dearer than last week. The demand was pai iicuiariy gooa for secondary sorts, which recently sold slowly. Best lambs made 31s to 37s 6d; good 26s to 30s; small and ordinary 16s to 255. rhe demand for aged ewes was steady throughout the sale ai full late rates. Values were: Extra prime heavy wethers made to 62s Id; prime heavy 50s to 555; prime mediumweight 44s to 495; ordinary and light 34s to 435. Extra prime ewes made to 45s 7d; prime 29s to 345; medium 245-to 28s; light and plain 20s to 235. FAT CATTLE The entry was 531 and the quality was ordinary. The sale opened firm, but later weakened. The few good steers and heifers were £1 dearer but others were on a par to slight.l lower. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers made to £3O 12s 6d; prime heavy £22 to £26; prime medium weight £l7 to £2l; ordinary and light £l2 10s to £l6. Extra prime heifers made to £22 12s 6d; prime £l3 10s to £l6; ordinary and light £S to_ £l3. Extra prime cows made to £lB 17s 6d: prime £7 10s to £9; ordinary and li'dit £5 to £7. Best beef made to 65s ~ per 1001 b; good 50s to 555; medium 47s 6d to 50s. Best cows 40s to 42s 6d; secondary 35s to ,37s 6d. PIGS
