SHIP FROM NEW GUINEA BEING FUMIGATED
WELLINGTON, February 25.
The 100,000-ton.steamer, Wairata, which arrived at Wellington last evening with building steel from New Guinea, is being held in the stream until she can be fumigated. As the steel was virtually “loaded from the jungle’’, the Union Manufacturing and Export Company, which chartered the ship, requested this precautionary measure.
