BULGARIAN GOVERNMENT CLAIMS FIFTEEN PROTESTANT CLERGYMEN ALL "CONFESSED” BEFORE TRIAL
(Bee. 7.25) LONDON, February 25. Mass pleas of guilt and of repentance, which wvere alleged to have been made by the fifteen Bulgarian Protestant clergymen who are to go on trial in Sofia, to-day, on charges of spying and of plotting, were shown to foreign press correspondents last night, by Bia Timev, the Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Justice. The Associated Press correspondent at Sofia says: The Minister produced two hundred and twenty-six pages of statements and of depositions,» which, he said, were in the hand-writing of the defendants. The correspondent adds that the documents were filled with responses like these: — “I admit my guilt ” “I repeat.” “I beg clemency.” “I want to be given a new chance to work for the Motherland. ’ ’
