WILL MARSHALL PLAN LAST FOUR YEARS ?
WASHINGTON, Feb. 24
The Marshall Plan should be continued until European recovery is assured, but at the same time it might be possible to complete the plan in less than the scheduled four years’ period. President Truman said to-day. He rejected suggestions that Marshall Plan assistance to Britain should cease in view of the reoort that the British Under-Secretary of State, Mr Christopher Mayhew, had stated that Britain had already achieved virtually complete ecnonomic recovery. Mr Truman added that he was happy to hear the report, and, if it were true, the Marshall Plan aid might not have to be continued for the entire four years envisioned in the curernt programme.
