CROQUET West Coast Tourney
Play on the third day of the West Coast Croquet Association’s annual tournament was continued yesterday in far from ideal conditions. The greens, however, are playing remarkably well. Mrs Nottle, who defeated Mr Bull in the championship singles, is playing very good croquet. Results: Handicap doubles: Second round: Mesdames Nicholls (Christchurch) and Bring (Greymouth) defeated Mesdames Nottle and Slee (Westport) 26-24. Mesdames McCracken (Christchurch) and Ray (Greymouth) defeated Mesdames Warnes and Lambert (Greymouth) 26-22. Championship doubles: First round: Mesdames Martin and Bull (Christchurch) defeated Mesdames Hosking and Dickie (Christchurch) 26-22. Championship singles: First life, first round: Mrs Hosking (Christchurch) defeated Mrs Rhodes (Dunedin) 26-21. Second round: Mrs Bull (Christchurch) defeated Mrs Hawke by default. Mr Wilson (Runanga) defeated Mrs Hooper (Greymouth) 26-20.
Second life, first round: Mrs Dickie defeated Mrs Hawke by default. Second round: Mrs Nottle (Westport) defeated Mrs Dickie (Christchurch) 26-9. Mrs Hosking (Chrischurch) defeated Mrs Bull (Christchurch) 2'6-20. Mrs McCracken (Christchurch) defeated Mr Petty (Nelson) 26-9.
