ATHLETICS AUSTRALIANS AT WANGANUI

P.A. WANGANUI, February 23. Four Australian athletes, M. Cur- | otta, D. White, G. Avery and G. Goodacre, appeared here to-night. There were atrocious conditions, with heavy rain and a strong wind. Much interest was taken in the invitation 100 yards race between the Australian sprir./ champion, M. Curotta, and the All Black three-quarter, F. Henderson, the Wanganui sprint champion. Curotta won by three yards from Henderson in heavy rain, and against a strong wind. Detailed results were: 100yds invitation: M. Curotta (Australia) 1, P. Henderson (Wanganui) 2.
