FOUR-DAY SESSION FOR SUPREME COURT AT GREYMOUTH

When the Supreme Court session opens at (Sreymoutli on Monday next, tour cases requiring juries are set clown tor decision, and the session is expected to occupy at least four days. There is only one criminal case listed, the remaining three cases being claims for injuries received in accidents. Mr Justice Northcroft will preside tor the first time since 1946 when he left for Japan as New Zealand member of the War Crimes Tribunal which sentenced leading Japanese some time ago. Cases lor nearing arc: — CRIMINAL (for trial): John Cherrie, oi Taylorville, three charges of involving alleged indecent assault on females. CIVIL (before His Honour and jurj oi 12): Albert Shaw Williamson v. H.M. the King, claim for £2suo general damages and £3Ol 9s special damages, for injuries allegeaiy received in a State mine by tne suppliant (a road worker) (allegedly due to negligence by respondent or servants. William James Prendergast v. Blackwater Mines Ltd., claim for ~.6uUu general damages _ and £984 18s special damages, for injuries allegedly received by the plaintiff, a miner, allegedly due to negligence by the defendant, its servant or agents. Norrie Margaret Williams v. Margaret Oliphant Hood, claim for £1260 general damages and .£lO7 10s lid special damages, for injuries allegedly received when the plaintiff, as a cvclist, was involved in a collision with a motor car allegedly driven in a negligent manner by the defendant’s authorised agent. Melvin Leonard Fenmor v. Beryl Fearl Fenmor, petition for divorce on the ground that a separation agreement has been .in force for three years. Answer filed alleging that the separation was caused by wrongful acts of the petitioner and alleging adultery. There is also one motion for a decree absolute.
