REEFTON NOTES

REEFTON, Feb. 21

Mr and Airs F. Archer have returned home after spending a holiday at Punakaiki. Mr and Mrs Galbraith and family, of Timaru, are spending a holiday in Reefton, as the guests of Air and Mrs F. Archer.

Sister F. Preen, of the Bullei’ Hospital, paid a short visit to Reefton last week.

A big programme of tar sealing is at present being carried out in Reefton. The foothpath from the Reefton railway station to the town has been completed. Portions of Shield and Walshe streets and Broadway are undergoing the same process and the work will be an advantage to the town

The Reefton Methodist Sunday School held their annual picnic on Saturday at the Reef ton race-course, when a large gathering attended and the day was spent in games, competitions and races. Ice-cream and sweets were distributed to the children, who enjoyed the day out.

The weather in Reefton over the week-end was very changeable with coal snaps and intermittent rain. Mrs E. Moseley has returned to Temuka, after spending a few days in Reefton with hei’ sister, Mr G. Bennett. The telephone number of the “Argus” correspondent in Reefton is 3D.
