Mr J. Holmes, a member of the Ross Borough Council has been appointed to represent the Hokitika, Ross, and Kumara Borough Councils on the Westland Catchment Board to replace Mr D. M. Pettigrew, who has resigned. Before the end of the month the judging of the gardens with roadside lawns. The donor of the trophy, Mr This competition was started some 12 years ago and has been responsible ior many new gardens and roadside dawns, lhe donor of the trophy, Mr J. L. Turner, must feel proud to have set the gardeners of Hokitika into yearly competition with such tangiuie results. Mr Watson carries out the judging on behalf of the Hokitika Beautnying Association.
