Italian Strikers’ Gun Fight with Police
(Rec 9.10) ROME, rebruary 18. Twenty-five people were wounded in a gun fight between strikers in Isolaliri, about 50 miles south of Rome, according to newspaper reports in Rome. , One thousand strikers occupied a paper mill. They opened machine-gun lire against the police, who then fired back. Demonstrators from the town erected barricades and they also electrified wire fences near the mill. The police, finally, used armoured cars to break into the mill and to clear the strikers from it.
