GOLD DUMPED ON PARIS MARKET CAUSES PRICE TO FALL
PARIS, February 17. Gold prices slumped heavily in Paris for the second successive day. Some quarters interpreted it as the beginning .of the recovery of French currency, but some private banking circles believe that Russia has been selling gold heavly in an attempt to upset the price structure in America and the Marshall Aid countries. The newspaper, “La' Vie Financiere”, refers to a report alleging a Russian sale of 20 tons of gold through non-official channels in Switzerland. Dealers expect a further fall in the gold price in France in the immediate future. __
