NORTH OF IRELAND PREMIER FORECASTS EIRE PRESSURE
(Rec 7.10) LONDON, February 17. Sir Basil Brooke said, in Belfast. — “Northern Ireland must resist any pressure that Eire is going to bring on her.
“Every device will be used against us, and we must counteract them with everything we have. There is going to be no tampering with our position as long as I am Prime Minister.” He said that he had told the British Prime Minister, Mr Attlee, and other s that Northern Ireland was determined not to be absorbed in the Gaelic Republic. “Northern Ireland will not budge one inch from the position it has always held loyalty to the Crown.”
