Nelson Land Board

At the monthly meeting of the Nelson Land Board, there were present Messrs J. A. Peterson (Commissioner of Crown Lands), J. O’Regan, J. Ward and C. P. Reilly. Sections 8 and 9, Springs Junction, 1 rood 18 perches, was granted to George Gregory Lockington, of Rahu Post Office, Reefton, sawmiller, on renewable lease.

Sections 119, 120, 124 and 125, Millerton, 1 acre, were granted as residence sites to the Buller Mining Districts’ Community Centre (Inc.), the value of the sites being fixed at £4O.

A. Hunter, Westport, was granted timber cutting rights on 80 acres, Block 2, Waitakere, subject to his cleaning up his extra area. Charles S. Simkin was granted permission to cut two matai trees on Sec. 86, Block 9 Oporara, on royalty of 3s per 100 feet. Albert J. Evans's sand removal license was extended for one year over two acres in Waitapu S.D. The Board left in the hands of the Commissioner the grant of timber rights to W. F. N. Jenkins (Birchfield) and A. Burt (Granity) over Sec. 5 Block 11, Matirio S.D. The transfer of Part Section 1049. Westpoi’t Colliery Reserve, from Daniel McLaughlin to Michael Theodore Gough, of Westport, cream grader was approved. D. R. Seymour was granted six months’ extension of lease over Secs. 14 and 9, 80 acres in Glock 9. Inangahua.

R. Ronchi’s application was granted for cancellation of lease of Part Section 26, Block 12, Mawheraiti, 20 acres.
