Buller Hospital statistics for January, reported to yesterday’s meeting of the Board, were:— Operations performed 53; outpatients treated 102; out-patients’ attendances 195; patients admitted 39 males, 28 females, discharged 34, 26; died 2, —; remaining in hospital 44. 14. X-ray department: Out-patients 119; out-patients’ exposures 212; inpatients 60; in-patients’ exposures 110. Massage department: Out-patients treated 23; out-patients’ attendances 220; in-patients treated 13; inpatients’ attendances 187. Sister Preen, temporary relieving Sister, leaves at the end of the month to take up her maternity training. Three student nurses are on annual leave. The health of the nurses this month has been very satisfactory. All lirstterm lectures have commenced, and a new Him projector is being used in conjunction with lectures. The student nurses have requested that the toilet room be enlarged and a second’ bath be installed, also a wringer be purchased for the wash-house. This request was agreed to. Kawatiri Hospital statistics: Admissions 15; discharges 10; births 13. Denniston Hospital: Admissions 4; discharges 3; remaining 4.
