SCHOOLS AS POLLING BOOTHS
AUCKLAND, Feb. 16.
A recommendation that for future elections and referenda polling day should be a Saturday will be sent to the Minister of Education, the Hon. T. H. McCombs, by the Auckland Education Board.
At to-day’s meeting, board members strongly condemned the practice of taking over schoolrooms as polling booths for gaming and licensing referenda, especially when alternative halls are available nearby.
