M.P. Questions Punter's Right to Social Security

In the House of Representatives to-day, Dr. A. M. Finlay (Govt.. North Shore), gave notice to ask the Minister of Social Security, Hon. W. E. Parry, whether lie had seen a newspaper report that a person described as a pensioner, had placed among others, two bets of £5O each at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting last Saturday. “If the person concerned is a social security beneficiary, will the Minister investigate his right to continue as such?’’ asked Dr. Finlay Mr A.
