Seven Asian policemen, including an Asian Inspector, were killed and six Asian constables w z ere wounded when their truck was ambushed by terrorists outside Taiping about 200 miles north of Kuala Lumpuh. The! bandits called on the police to surrender, but they refused, and a battle started. The only member of the police patrol to escape unscathed was the driver of their truck.
