France has made a strong provesv to the Indian Embassy in Paris, following the receipt of despatches saying that the French administrator or Mahe and his family have been “taken away in an unknown direc lion” by persons believed to be members of the Congress Party. Renorts from Mahe state that French naval craft, which arrived vesterday. left to-day for Pondicherry with M.
