U.S.A. PRAISE FOR BRITISH RECOVERY EFFORT
(Rec 10.0 p.m.) LONDON, Oct 28. Mr Paul Hoffman, the European Recovery Arministrator, before leaving London by air for New YorkGast night, sold: ‘‘l of going back with a celar impression that Britain lias made remarkable progress in making good her pledge of self-help. To be •quite honest, when I took this job in April, it seemed to me that the goals Britain had set herself in the first year were quite unattainable, but I must admit that the progress made dispels all my doubts. The very gallant and successful fight Britain is putting up to build up her exports and to hold down her imports, and thus achieve financial stability, is one which commands the world’s admiration.”
