Europe’s Return to Her Own People
The United States should renew its Proposals for a Big Four defence alliance, if Moscow thought Nazi revival would result, from America’s efforts to heln Europe. economically and re-establish German autonomy, said Senator Arthur Vandenhurg, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
‘‘Our over-riding aim is not to contain Russia, not to Americanise Europe. It. is to return Europe to the Europeans. When this is done our objective is to retire from, a Europe which has re-established itself,” he concluded.
