Maori Rider’s Theft of Saddle P.A. NAPIER, August 30 Employed as a stablehand jockey at

Matamata, early this year. Puke Kmita aged 21, went to the Paeroa races in 'March and stole a saddle belonging to a trainer. Kinita became, too heavy for riding, and returned home to Tutira. taking the saddle with him. He appeared to-day before the Magistrate Mr- Sinclair, charged with theft of a'saddle. He pleaded guilty. He was admitted to probation for twelve months. The saddle was recovered.
