U.N.O. USELESS WHEN POWERS WANT NO DECISION
(Received August 13,-11.10 p.m.) NEW; YORK, August 12. The United Nations SecretaryGeneral, Mr. Trygve Lie, to-day repeated his call for an East-West conference on Berlin. He told a press conference that United Nations arbitration was useless, unless both sides genuinely wanted a decision. He added that the U.N.O. General Assembly meeting in Paris would be the most critical one in the United Nations history, because of the atomic, disarmament, and Palestine questions.
