CHILDREN HURT WHEN STEER RUSHES PRAM

DARGAVILLE, June 1. Gored in the chest by a steer that ran amuck in Normandy Street, and rushed a pram in which she and her twin brother were lying, 15-months-old Dianne Mary Brophy was last night admitted to the Northern Wairoa Hospital to have her wound stitched. , Her three-year-old brother Patrick who sustained lacerations to one leg when struck by the steer, was also admitted to hospital. Both children are now progressing satisfactorily, the boy’s condition being slightly better than that of the girl. Other than suffering shock, the children’s mother, Mrs E. J. Brophy and the other occupant of the pram, Dennis Brophy, were not injured. They were the only people near th? beast- at the time.
