Opera House Finally to-night: “It 'Happened In Brooklyn.” Commencing to-mor-row: “The Hidden Eye,” and Frontier Gun Law.” “THE HIDDEN EYE” A hand-to-hand struggle between the blind detective, Duncan Mac-lain ana a crafty tourt-time killer seeking a mining fortune provides a thrilling climax to the exciting mystery thriller, “The Hidden Lye.” commencing at the Opera House to-morrow, with Hdwara Arnold, Frances Kaiferty, Paul Langham and Friday, the seeing eye in tne leading roles. Called in to solve the murder of two of the Hampton men 01 the family, McLain is powerless to prevent crimes three and four. But the jasmine scent left behind by the murderer provides the first clue for Maclain and he conducts an ingenious search for the origin of the scent. His secret discovered, tne murderer no longer pretends but instead he kidnaps Masclain and Friday and prepares to eliminate the neice so that he can become sole heir. How he is stymied makes for fast and furious movio thrills. “FRONTIER GUN LAW” Continuing his meteoric ride through the lawless west of frontier days. the Durango Kid is said to add another thrilling adventure to his growing list of naming battles against injustice in “Frontier Gun Law,” starring Charles Starrett, commences at the Opera House to-morrow. The action-packed story tells of a daring band of masked horsemen which murders innocent victims and pillages a terrified town until the killers meet their match in the Robin Hood of the Range. Blazing gun battles and galloping hoof beats roar on the prairie, music soars in the hills and excitement scores on the screen. Regent Theatre Finally to-night.- “The Two Mrs Carrolls,” with Humphrey Bogart, Barbara Stanwyck. Commencing to-morrow: “Singapore,” starring Fred Mac Murray, Ava Gardner. Torrid love, intrigue, physical combat and a touch of war have been stirred together into the excitimr melodrama, “Singapore.” Laid entirely in the Far Eastern metropolis for which it is named, present jlay Singapore is shown on the screen for the first time. While a section of the picture is devoted to the days and events leading to the Jap attack on the city, the major portion of the story takes place to-day. It is a stirring tale woven around a determined and reckless pearl smuggler who has only two" intends in life —a beautiful woman and priceless pearls. Mac Murray and Miss Gardner are the key figures In the plot which gives each an opportunity for an outstanding characterisation. They are ably supported by a cast chosen for their particular talents in the roles they portray. Among the long list of vzell known featured players are Roland Culver,.
