More Cases of Infantile Paralysis
P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 22, Three oositive cases of poliomyelitis were’ diagnosed in Taranaki today, bringing the total to 46 since November. There have been eleven cases in the past eight days. To-day’s cases were a girl at Hawera aged four; a boy at New Plymouth aged 14; and a Tongaporutu boy aged 14, who was reported as a suspect yesterday. One patient is a day pupil at New Plymouth Boys’ High School, which has ’been closed. The boarders there are remaining in residence!. P.A. WANGANUI, April 22.
A boy from Castlecliff was admitted to Wanganui Public Hospital as a suspected case of infantile paralysis. This was the first admission to Wanganui Hospital for some weeks. Four cases remain in the hospital. All are reported to be progressing satisfactorily.
