AIR LINER CRASHES IN SCOTLAND

Nobody Much the Worse ! (Rec. 10.30) LONDON, April 22. When a British European Airways London-to-Glasgow Viking airliner became lost, she crash-landed iate yesterday on a hillside near Largs, in Ayrshire. The liner burst into flames. Only two or three of her passengers suffered superficial injuries. Sixteen passengers and a crew of four scrambled to safety through openings in the tail. The first news of the crash was taken to Largs police station by Pilot Captain John Ramsden and one passenger, who walked six miles across moors, and by following a hillside stream reached Largs. , A search party immediately was organised, but Ramsden said he was not certain, owing to fog, where he crash-landed, but he thought it was 1200 feetup a hillside. A search party, with his assistance, is now endeavouring to locate the wrecked plane. The passengers had to spend the night on the hillside.
