U.S. MINERS ORDERED TO RETURN TO WORK

(Rec. 9.0). WASHINGTON, April 21. Judge Goldsmith to-day issued an injunction ordering the United Mine Workers to end the soft coal strike. The injunction replaces the temporary restraining order which Mr John L Lewis, the secretary, and the United Mine Workers ignored, incurring theh' contempt conviction with fines totalling 1,420,000 dollars. Another development of the coal dispute to-day was an application by Ezra Van Horn, the employers’ representative on the Miners’ Pension Fund Board, who asked the Federal Court for an iniunction to block any payments under the Pensions Settlement Board. Van Horn’s application declared that the pensions settlement was unsound and illegal.
