NEW PLYMOUTH, April 22
Stating that he was satisfied that accused was of unsound mind at the time when the alleged offence was committed, the Solicitor-General has issued a stay of proceedings in the murder charge pending against Evelyn Marie O’Byrne. The charge alleged the murder of hex' infant son, Philip John, at New Plymouth on November’ 17. ’ Commenting on the receipt of the stay of proceedings Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M., said that Mrs O’Byrne nad been committed to a mental hospital under an order made in Wellington by Mr Goulding, S.M., on March' 22.
