AUCKLAND, April 15. , Believing a young married woman’s story that she had written scripts for a Russian playwright and for people prominently connected w-ith the cinema industry and was going to America to finish a book, Mrs Thelma Macdonald advanced sums totalling £l9O to the young woman the latter pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day to six chaiges of false pretences. Justices committed the accused to the Supreme C ourt for sentence, allowed bail and suppressed her name. . Mrs Macdonald gave evidence that on one occasion she sold a dinghy to find £3O, and borrowed money from her. mother-in-law to give to accused. .
