Women’s hockey matches played at Greymouth on Saturday resulted: Cobden beat St. Columba 2.1; Greymouth beat Trinity 5.0; Hokitika beat Runanga 6.0. SATURDAY’S TRIAL MATCH
The hockey trial match on Saturday, Possibles v. Probables, resulted in a win for Possibles by four goals to one. Scorers for the winners were M. Eatwell 2), P. Clarke, and R. Bennett. S. Hill scored for Probables. After the game, the selectors, Messrs I.' Burn, J. Sloss, and W. Newton, announced the following two teams to travel to Nelson on July 19:—
A team: A. Eatwell; G. Swinburne, L. Seguin; K. Ward, J. Hurren, R. Beckman; R. Bennett, K. Kendon, P. Clarke, M. Eatwell, E. Newton. Reserves: A. Lamberton, M. Newton, I. Emmerson.
B team: M. Keating; W. Cfopp, R. Mellett; H. Eatwell, P. Smith, R. Parmenter; E. Tones, J. Carter, S. Hill, J. Best, I. O’Callaghan. Reserves: R. Hutchins, D. Bradley, C. McDonald.
