WATER SUPPLY FOR BLACK'S POINT A motion that the Inangahua County Council be requested to proceed with a scheme to supply water to the 32 households at Black’s Point was carried by a comfortable margin at a public meeting at Black’s Point early this week. Cr McGregor, who presided, said that a plan had been prepared by the council for the scheme, and an application had been made to the Mines Department for a grant to assist in establishing the supply. It was decided at the meeting that a special rate of 3d in the £ be struck on capital value, and that the council be requested to make a weekly water rent charge of 6d per tap to cover the cost of the scheme. An amendment that the rate and rent questions be held over until finality was reached in connection with the Mines Department, was defeated.
