[Our Own Correspondent.] The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Inangahua Amateur Boxing Association: Patron. Mr A. Lulham; president, Mr C. Coxall; vice-presidents, Mr V. Caldwell and Rev. Fr. Kirby; committee, Messrs R. Bradley, A. B. Archer, G. Wilson, L. Storey/ C. Hinton, J. Baillie, A. Palmer, J. Griffen, H. Smith, A. Eklund, A. Parkinson and L. Wood; secretary, Mr F. Archer; treasurer, Mr C. Belcher; auditor, Mr L. Wood; hon. surgeons, Doctors Wicken and Heaphy. The secretary was granted an honorarium of £lO 10s. The annual subscription was fixed at ss. It was suggested to open a trophy account, and the secretary and president were authorised to purchase medals for last year’s winners. It was also decided to donate a set of gloves to the Waiuta Club. Mr L. Wood suggested that when the year’s programme was laid down, an open air bout be arranged for top-class boxers. It was decided to invite the Canterbury Association to send four of its best amateurs to Rcefton for a tournament. The annual report showed that the club’s canvass for trophies met with a good response. The thanks of the association were due to Rev. Fr. Kirby and Mr J. Baillie for instructing the boys, and the Waiuta and Greyrnouth competitors for attending the tournaments. The president paid a tribute to the secretary’s work. Messrs A. G. Prendevill, National President, and F. Cook, National Secretary of the United Mine Workers, are visiting Reefton to-day to confer with the secretary of the Inangahua Miners’ Union in connection with urgent union business. After the end of the present financial year the Burke’s Creek Miners’ Unoin will be absorbed into the Inangahua Coal and Gold Miners’ Union. This decision was reached after taking a ballot by both unions. The voting was as follows: For amalgamation 134, against 11, informal 2; total 147.
