Rotorua Sanatorium Ex-Patients to Have An Association
ROTORUA, May 20. A meeting of interest to past, present and future patients was held in the sanatorium on the evening of May 13, for the purpose of forming an association, to be known as the Rotorua Sanatorium Ex-patients’ Association. There is a considerable need for tl:e existence of such an association, whereby the patients can unitedly possess additional amenities, which do not come under the scope of the department to provide; for example, an occupational therapy section, games and many additional comforts from which all patients will reap the benefit. There was a full attendance of present patients, and the meeting was most enthusiastic, which augurs ewll for a successful future. Hon. Miss Tnderson, M.L.C., was voted to the chair and Mrs Cresswell acted as secretary. It was unanimously decided to ask the Hon. the Minister of the Department to act as patron. The matron was elected president. Mr William Munroe, of Cambridge was asked to accept the post of secretary, with Mr Watson as his assistant. A small committee will be appointed for each new group of patients resident at the sanatorium and it will be their prvilege to discuss the ways and means of raising fui ds. The month of May will be the end of the financial year, and subscriptions were decided by vote to be: Gentlemen 5/-; ladies 2/6. Donations will always be acceptable.
