U.S. Congress Supports Information Service
WASHINGTON, May 20. The Foreign Affairs Sub-commit-tee of the U.S. House of Representatives have approved of legislation .to establish “an Office of Information and Educational Exchange” within the State Department. The House of Representatives eliminated the radio appropriation for “The Voice of America” and for other information programmes, last week, on the ground that there was no specific legal authorisation for its
operation. The new legislation for the Office of Information is designed to overcome this statutory deficiency.
