WOMAN DRIVER'S FAILURE TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT F.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 20. Mrs Eileen O’Dea, a married woman,’ living at Hawera, was charged at the Supreme Court with negligent driving, causing death. She was acquitted of the charge. The jury found a verdict of guilty of failing to stop after the accident, failing to ascertain whether the car had injured anyone, and failing to render all practicable assistance to an injured man. The victim was Frederick Charles Anstis, aged 74, who was knocked down by the car at the intersection of two Hawera streets on the evening of March 8. She was remanded for sentence until to-morrow morning.
