HOCKEY Wheelmen Have Surprise Win
Wheelmen had a surprise victory at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, when they defeated Cobden, the leading team in the competition, thus winning their first match since the inception of the team last season. The final score in an exciting game was: Wheelmen 2 —Cobden 1. Rangers drew with Pacific, 2 all. WOMEN’S MATCHES Results of women’s matches played on Saturday morning are as follows: Greymouth defeated Trinity by three goals to nil. J. Newton (2), and M. Newton scoring the goals. Cobden and St. Columba each scored three goals. M. Anderson (2), and C. Silcock scored for Cobden, and I. Finlay (2), and M. McCarthy for St. Columba.
