Two Greymouth Youths Lose Themselves on Shooting Trip

Two Greymouth youths, Jack Jamieson and Ross Leach, aged 17 years, both residing at Preston Road, became lost whilst on a shooting expedition in the old Marsden Road area last night. They left their homes yesterday. morning, intending to return at about 4 p.m., and when no word of them had been received at 7 p.m., their parents became alarmed, and a search party under Constable Uddstrom, of the Greymouth Police, set out to look for them. At 10.30 p.m., the party heard the missing youths calling from the thick bush, but it was not until 11.30 o’clock that they were discovered. The two lads climbed to the top of a ridge about two miles from the road, about ■' a mile inland from the old Marsden tram line, and lighted a. fire which attracted the attention of the searchers. By 12.30 this morning they had been returned to their homes, little the worse for their experience.
