The funeral of the late Mr Christopher Johnston, of Otira, took place at the Karoro Cemetery on Saturday. Rev. K. G. Aubrey conducted the service in Bellamy’s Chapel, and later at the graveside.

A London cable states that the Leader of the House of Lords, Lord Addison, has announced that he intends to visit Australia during Parliament’s summer recess. He will travel by air.

There was a large attendance of residents from all parts of the Grey Valley at the funeral of the late Mr John McDonnell of Totara Flat, which took place at the Ahaura Cemetery yesterday. Rev. Father J. Quinn conducted the service at St. Munchin’s Church, Totara Flat, and was assisted at the graveside by Very Rev. Monsignor J., Long and Rev. Father V. Flaherty.
