TOMLINSON—OUST St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Greymouth, was daintily decorated with autumn flowers to tone in with the dresses of the bride and bridesmaids, on Saturday last on the occasion of the wedding of the second daughter of Mr and Mrs William Cast, of Runanga, and Geoffrey Albert Tomlinson, fourth son of Mrs Duley and the late Mr Tomlinson, of Greym,outh. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Brettell of Runanga. The bride escorted by her father was attired in a delicate gown of white brocaded satin, the bodice sheered to a point at the neck, with a deep waist-line, a square cut neck, edged with vandyke lace, and a row of tiny self-covered buttons down the back. The skirt was fully flared and slightly trained with a peplum. Her circular veil was embroidered with a trimming of deep lace, and was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She wore a double string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, and carried a shower bouquet of pure lite gladioli, carnations and Easter lilies decoraced with maiden-hair fern and with long white streamers. Miss oily Cust was chief bridesmaid dressed n pink brocaded satin, with a sheered front, and the neck edged with vandyke peaking of self material. She wore a fully flared skirt, and head bank of cornflowers, carnations, pink lilies and maiden-hair fern. Miss Pauline Cust was dressed similarly, but in blue brocaded satin. The bridegrom was attended by his brothers, Ken as bestman, and Robert as groomsman. Miss Marshall presided at the organ. Mrs Roy Wylde sang “Ave Maria,” at the signing of the register. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmands were a gold bracelet each. On leaving the church, little Miss Lorraine Tomlinson, the niece of the bridegroom presented the bride with the traditional lucky horse-shoe. After the ceremony the bride’s mother received the guests at the Runanga Fire Station, where the reception was held, wearing a pearl grey striped costume with black accessories and a shoulder spray of pink begonia and pink lilies, interlaced with maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black frock relieved with gold and flowers to tone in a golden hue.. Rev. Brettell presided at the wedding breakfast, when the usual toasts were honoured. Numerous -telegrams were read from different parts of New Zealand. Items were rendered by Miss Jean Wright, Miss Ida Walsh, Mrs R. Wylde, Messrs Murly, Robert Scott, and Walter Rose snr., and Rev. Mr Brettell. Mr and Mrs Tomlinson left by rail car for Christchurch on their honeymoon, thence proceeding to Huntly, where they will make their future home. ALDWIN— ALDRIDGE The wedding was solemnized recently at St. Saviour’s Church, Christchurch, of Melda, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs R. Aldridge, Kumara, and Edward Maurice, elder son of Mr and Mrs M. Aidwin, Aranui, Christchurch. The officiating Minister was Rev. Mr. 8001. The bride escorted by Mr S. Roberts, of Hokitika, wore a long sleeved, fulry trained gown of ivory cloque cloth, buttoned at the back to the waist. Her Long tulle veil fell from a circlet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white gladioli. dahlias, and carnations. The bridesmands, Misses Sybil Douglas, of Waitaha, and Betty Mahoney were dressed alike in pink embossed silk taffetta frocks, made on long-waisted style with full skirts and three-quar-ter length sleeves. Their bouquets were of pink gladioli and dahlias, and they wore circlets of flowers in their hair. Twv little flower girls, Gwendolyn Neame, (niece of the bride), and Marlene Aidwin (sister of the bridegroom) wore dainty frocks of pink floral crepe-de-chene made with Victorian bodices, puff sleeves, and long full skirts, finished with sashes. They carried posies of pastel shaded flowers, and wore circlets to match ‘in their hair. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Ken Aidwin, as bestman, and Mr Brian O’Malley as groomsman. During the signing of the register, Mr Eric Beardsley sang, “I’ll Wall: Beside You.” The reception was held in St. Saviour’s Hall, where the guests were received by the bride’s sister, Mrs W. Neame, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother. V/hen the bridal couple left for the North Island, the bride wore a burgundy frock under a blue velvet trimmed coat, and burgundy halo hat and accessories to match.
