N.Z. Boneless Beef Not Good Enough for English Retailers

LCNEJON, March 21

Retail butchers at Bristol, England, have rejected New Zealand boneless beef. The British Ministry of Food has withdrawn most of the consignments of New Zealand boneless beef allocated to Bristol. Eighty butchers refused to sell it, saying it was suitable only for manufacturing purposes. No information has been received by the New Zealand Meat Board. Mr S. A. Chisholm, London manager of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, said he was sending the board a statement, and it could then decide if it would make a statement.
