FAT LAMBS SELL WELL: COAST FARMERS GOOD PRICES

CHRISTCHURCH, March 20. The store shepe entry at the Addington market yesterday whs the heaviest this season, totalling 32,000. The entry included 8600 lambs. . The entry in the fat lamb section was 2872, as compared with 2865 last week. Several lines from the West Coast were included, these bringing good prices. Prices in the various sections were:

Store Sheep: Top price was 275, paid for a line of Romney wether lambs. Good lambs made from 22s Id to 25s Id, ordinary 18s to 21s 7d, and small and backward 10s to 17s. The best of the strong woolled twotooths made from 40s to 525, with medium from 31s to 39s and others from 24s upward. Good fine-wbolled two-tooths made 34s to 365, with medium 28s to 325, and ordinary and unattractive 20s 6d to 27s 6d. The best of the four-year ewes made 26s to 32s 6d, with medium 22s 6d to 25s 6d, and others down to 12s. The best five-year ewes made to 28s 6d, with medium 18s to 235, and inferior down to 10s. Fat Lambs: Extra prime fat lambs to 43s 7d; prime fat lambs 37s 6d to 41s 6d; good fat lambs 32s to 36s 6d; medium fat lambs 28s to 31s 6d; light fat lambs 23s to 27s 6d. Vealers: Large vealers £8 10s to £l2 13s 6d; others £5 Is to £7 18s; best quality suckers £4 8s 6d to £6 13s 6d; medium suckers £3 8s 6d to £4 ss; large calves 48s to £3 12s; medium calves 30s to 455; small and rough, down to 15s. Store Cattle: Hereford and Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross eighteen months to 2i-year-old steers, in good order, made £lO 3s 6d to £l5 Is. Ten three-year-old Shorthorn steers from North Canterbury made £l3 18s 6d. and lines of 14 two-year-old Shorthorns and thirteen 18 months Shorthorns made £l2 Is and £9 13s 6d. The remainder of the offering included a number of cows, the best of which made £6 5s to £7. Poorer cows made £3 2s 6d to £5 8s 6d, and culls down to 30s.

Dairy Cattle: Best second, third and fourth calvers made £l6 to £2O, with one outstanding cow at £25; medium to good £lO 10s to £l4 10s; aged and inferior £5 5s to £9 ss. Best heifers made £l7 to £25; good £l2 to £l6; others £8 to £ll 10s.
